Avatar: The way of water is the sequel to Avtar released in 2009. This is one of the most awaited movies of all time. Director James Cameron created this universe of another planet which depicts the triumph of nature over man.
James Cameron pioneered motion-capture animation in films by developing his camera that captured minor facial expressions of the actors to ensure the result was as realistic as possible. James Cameron is best known for his movies Terminator(1984), Terminator 2(1991), Titanic (1997), and Avatar (2009).
Following Avatar, it is the second film in Cameron’s Avatar franchise (2009). Cameron is co-producing the film with Jon Landau and co-writing the screenplay with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, based on a story written by all three with Josh Friedman and Shane Salerno.
Avatar 2 Release Date
As per the latest reports, Avatar 2 will be released in 160 languages worldwide on 16 December 2022. The film Avatar 2 was to be released in Dec 2021 but got halted owing to the Covid pandemic.

The latest trailer was released on November 2, Wednesday. But the first trailer of the film was actually released on 9 May.
Avatar 2 Story Summary
This sequel is about Jake and Neytiri’s lives. After the first part, Jake became their leader after fighting humans. He and Neytiri have formed a family, even though they don’t have a home. Now they are exploring the various parts of Pandora’s planet. However, things change later when the humans arrive to execute them again.
Avatar 2 Budget
The Way of Water is the sequel to Avatar, the highest-grossing film of all time. It was made on a budget of around 327 million dollars and grossed a whopping 2.847 billion dollars worldwide. The filming of this sequel and the next sequel began concurrently in September 2017. The film’s budget is estimated to be around $250 million.

Future Sequels
Avatar Universe has at least three more films to tell its story. Avatar 3 was shot concurrently with Avatar 2 and is set to be released on December 20, 2023. Cameron and the company still have some work to do on Avatar 4. Fourth is scheduled to be released on December 16, 2026. Avatar 5 is currently scheduled for December 22, 2028.
Technologies use in Avatar 2
A discussion of Avatar would be incomplete without mentioning the technology used. Weta Digital’s Academy Award-winning visual effects for the first film sparked a major revolution in the film industry, particularly its innovative use of performance capture before it became a much more common process. Of course, it was used again in Avatar: The Way of Water, but the sequel is also breaking new ground with the technique.
