XFL schedule six days after the end of the NFL so that it becomes a true alternative to the NFL. As none of the league takes place during spring so this can be a huge success.
The XFL has unveiled its 8 new, official team identities:
XFL schedule starts on 18th February 2023. Arlington Renegades, DC Defenders, Houston Roughnecks, Orlando Guardians, San Antonio Brahmas, Seattle Sea Dragons, St. Louis Battlehawks, Vegas Vipers
This will be the second season of XFL. This Football league will have 8 different teams representing 8 different cities of the United States. In this season 5 teams remain unchanged but 3 teams’ cities changed now 3 new teams are Vegas Vipers, Orlando Guardians & san Antonio Brahmas.
XFL 2023 will be for the first time plan under its new ownership group of Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Gerry Cardinale (RedBird Capital).
XFL co-owner Dwayne”The Rock” Johnson revealed team names for the next 2023 season of the football league on Monday.
Origin of XFL in 2001
XFL was founded in 2001 but came to its original form in 2018 when 2 Sports giants Vince Mcmohan from WWE and Dick Ebersol from NBC Sport came together. The league started on Feb 08, 2020, and was scheduled to end on April 26, 2020, but on March 12, 2020, the league cancelled all the match concerns of the rising COVID outbreak.
First Season (2020)
There were 8 teams that participated in this league whose names were-
Dallas Renegades, DC Defenders, Houston Roughnecks, Los Angeles, Wildcats, New York Guardians, Seattle Dragons, St. Louis Battlehawks, Tampa Bay Vipers.
The first season ended without a winner. This results in a major financial crisis for XFL because of this On May 26, 2020, XFL filed a bankruptcy case and later On August 3, 2020, it was reported that a consortium led by Dwane ‘The Rock Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Gerry Cardinale purchased & saved the XFL for $15 million.
