Resources
- Spin
- The primary resource in Coin Master. Each spin operates the slot machine once and has a chance of triggering a raid, attack, shield drop, coin reward, or card drop. Players earn spins passively (5 per hour, max 50), from daily links, from events, and from Facebook gifts.
- Coin
- The secondary currency, used for building village items, buying chests, and upgrading. Coins can be earned, looted, raided, and attacked out of your stash. Protecting your coin stash is half of Coin Master strategy.
- Shield
- A defensive icon that absorbs one incoming attack. You can hold a maximum of 5 shields at a time. Shields are dropped from the slot machine, not earned separately.
- Pet Food
- A consumable that activates a pet's buff for 4 hours. Earned from card set rewards, village chests, Viking Quest stages, and occasional free pet food links.
- Pet XP
- Experience points that level up pets. Higher-level pets have stronger buffs. Earned from card sets, village chests, and event rewards.
Actions
- Spin
- Activating the slot machine. Each spin consumes 1 spin at base bet, or more at higher bet multipliers.
- Raid
- An action triggered by landing three Pig icons on the slot machine. You fly to another player's village and dig 3 holes (4 with Foxy) in search of their buried coin stash. The higher your bet, the bigger the potential loot.
- Attack
- An action triggered by landing three Hammer icons. You destroy one of another player's village items and claim a portion of their coins. Tiger boosts the coin yield.
- Shield drop
- When the slot machine drops a Shield icon, one shield is added to your defence. Max 5. Without shields, incoming attacks destroy your village items and drain coins.
- Chest open
- Spending coins to open a village chest, which drops cards for your collection. Best done during Card Boom events.
Cards & sets
- Card set
- A themed collection of 9 cards. Completing a set grants a reward chest with free spins (1,000 to 50,000 depending on rarity), Pet XP, Pet Food, and occasionally a joker card.
- Gold card
- A rare card found in high-rarity sets. Gold cards cannot be traded normally — only during Gold Card Trade events, which run 3–5 times per year. See card trading.
- Joker card
- A special card that substitutes for any card in a set. Non-tradeable. Usually awarded as an event reward.
- Keeper card
- A protection mechanic — when applied, a specific card becomes untradeable, preventing you from accidentally sending it away. Also non-tradeable itself.
- Stars
- A progression metric earned from card drops, village completion, and pets. Stars determine your Coin Master leaderboard position.
Pets
- Foxy
- The first pet every player unlocks. Foxy digs an extra hole during raids, boosting raid coin yield by ~25% at base level and more at higher levels. See the pet guide.
- Tiger
- A pet unlocked via card set completion. Tiger boosts the coin yield of every attack. Best used during Attack Madness.
- Rhino
- A defensive pet that automatically blocks incoming attacks with a success chance that grows with Rhino's level. Use when you are holding a large coin stash.
Events
- Viking Quest
- A monthly event with 9 progressive objectives and escalating rewards, including a rare card in the finale. See the Viking Quest guide.
- Raid Madness
- An event that triples the coin yield from raids. Runs 2–4 times per week.
- Attack Madness
- An event that triples the coin yield from attacks. Runs 2–4 times per week.
- Village Mania
- An event that reduces village building costs by up to 50%. Runs 2–3 times per month. The best time to finish expensive village items.
- Card Boom
- An event that drastically increases card drop rates. Best time to open chests.
- Gold Card Trade
- A rare event (3–5 times per year) that temporarily unlocks gold cards for trading between Facebook friends. See card trading.
- Anniversary event
- Moon Active's biggest annual event, usually featuring exclusive cards, pets, and the richest rewards of the year.
Other terms
- Moon Active
- The Israeli game studio that develops and publishes Coin Master. Moon Active is the only entity that releases legitimate free spin links.
- Bet multiplier
- A setting that increases the spins consumed per slot pull and proportionally increases rewards. Common values: 1x, 2x, 5x, 10x, 25x, 50x. Higher village levels unlock higher multipliers.
- Village
- A themed base you build with coins. Each village has a fixed set of items, and completing all items unlocks the next village. Over 300 villages exist as of 2026.
- Free spin link
- A reward URL released by Moon Active through their official social channels. Tapping one on a phone with Coin Master installed credits the reward automatically. See how to redeem.
- Facebook gifts
- The in-game mechanic that lets players send each other up to 100 free spins per day through Facebook friends, without losing any of their own spins.
